Korean swimming’s next big star, Kim Woo-min (22, Gangwon-do), pushed his limits on the big stage.
Kim finished fifth in the men’s 400m freestyle final in 3:44.92 at the FINA World Aquatics Championships Fukuoka 2023 at Fukuoka Hall in Fukuoka, Japan on Wednesday.
His time was a personal best of 3:45.59, bettering his previous best of 3:45.59 set in the preliminaries earlier in the day. It was another strong performance for Kim, who finished sixth at last year’s World Championships in Budapest.
The last Korean men’s freestyle medal was won by Park Tae-hwan in 2007. Kim has improved his ranking each year and is looking forward to the next competition.
Samuel Short (AUS) won gold in the men’s 400m freestyle in 3:40.68. Ahmed Hafnawi (Tunisia) was second in 3:44.70 and Lukas Martens (Germany) was third in 3:42.20. 토토사이트
