Shin Jia “disappointed to miss senior tournament, but will improve”

Shin Jia (Young Dong-jung) is the self-proclaimed women’s singles ace of South Korean figure skating.

Since the 2022-2023 season, she has won medals at various domestic and international competitions and has become the next big thing.

After winning gold and silver medals at two International Ice Skating Union (ISU) Junior Grand Prix events in the 2022-2023 season, Shin won silver at the Junior Grand Prix Final, a podium finish, and silver at the Junior World Championships.

This season, she also qualified for the Junior Grand Prix Final by taking first place in both Junior Grand Prix events with high scores of over 200 points.

Now, the junior stage is narrow for Shin.

He won his second consecutive title at the 2024-2025 National Team Trials at the Uijeongbu Indoor Ice Center in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi-do, on March 3, defeating all of Korea’s top senior players.

She earned a final total of 216.35 points, easily beating out Lee Hae-in (Sehwa Girls’ High School), Kim Ye-rim (Dankook University), 안전카지노사이트 and Yoo Young, who have dominated the Korean figure women’s singles stage in recent years.

She was also more than 12 points clear of second-place Kim Chae-yeon (203.64 points-Surigyo).

She can now compete with the best in the world on the senior international stage. Unfortunately, the rules are holding her back.

The ISU raised the eligibility age for senior competition to protect younger athletes in the wake of the Kamila Valyeva (RUS) doping scandal at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.

The ISU held its General Assembly in June last year and raised the minimum age for senior international figure competition to 16 in the 2023-2024 season and 17 in the 2024-2025 season.

As a result, Shin, who was born on March 19, 2008, will not be able to compete at the senior level until 2026 at the Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina d’Ampezzo.

Due to her age, Shin will also not be able to compete at the 2024 Figure Four Continental Championships, which will be awarded to the first through third place finishers in the first round of national selection.

While she is disappointed, she said she will remain calm and wait for 2026.

“I’m very disappointed, but I’m going to work on my skills before I move up to the senior stage,” she said after the first round of the national team trials. “If I prepare well, I’ll be able to show a good performance at the senior level.”

“I want to compete with my senior sisters as soon as possible, but I think I need to improve my skills to compete well,” he said, vowing to work harder. 온라인카지노
