As he heals from a left knee injury, Mark Tallo won’t be around the Converge FiberXers in the foreseeable future, a source told SPIN.ph.

The 5-foot-11, 187-pound point guard sustained what was diagnosed as “partial tears on the proximal and distal patellar tendon.” Fortunately there is no damage to the major ligaments and meniscus of the knee.

There is no definite timetable for a return,” a team official who requested anonymity said.

Tallo’s agent, JR Guevara, confirmed the Cebuano guard’s latest injury.

“He re-injured a partial patellar tear he suffered while he was with Chooks,” he said. “It’s healed naman before the PBA season started. Considering the fact that he joined the team late I think Converge naman knew Mac has to make habol in his conditioning.
“During the course of the current PBA conference, nagtataka kami bakit yung conditioning nya is not where we expected it to be,” Guevara added.

Signed by the team last October, reuniting him with poach Aldin Ayo, Tallo appeared in all of Converge’s five games so far in this ongoing Commissioner’s Cup.

The No. 1-ranked 3×3 player in the Philippines, Tallo, 29, averaged 7 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2 assists on 21.3 minutes of play per game.

“Okay naman siya, he is in good spirits. He waited four years to get back to the PBA. Couple of weeks is nothing, he’s just going to work harder on his therapy and conditioning and be back better than before,” said Guevarra.
