Riyad Mahrez (Algeria) of the English professional soccer Premier League’s Manchester City is set to join the Saudi Arabian league.
“Mahrez will join Al Ahli in the Saudi Arabian League for a fee of £30 million ($49 billion),” ESPN reported on Tuesday.
Mahrez broke into the English game when he joined Leicester City in 2013 and has spent the last five seasons at Manchester City.
In the 2022-2023 season, he scored 15 goals in 47 official matches.
Mahrez has two years left on his contract with City, but has opted to play in the Saudi Arabian league.
He will also not be part of City’s preseason trips to South Korea and Japan.
ESPN also reported that Fulham midfielder Andreas Pereira (BRA) will also move to the Saudi Arabian league.
“Several Saudi league teams are interested in him,” ESPN added of Pereira, who scored five goals for Fulham last season.
Since Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal) joined Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nasr in January, a number of European players have made the move to the Saudi league, including Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante (France), 먹튀검증토토사이트 Roberto Firmino (Brazil), Edouard Mendy (Senegal), and Rubin Neves and Jota (Portugal).
