T1 ‘Owner’ Moon Hyun-jun “beats Jingdong 3 games to 1”

“Owner” Moon Hyun-jun predicted a “3-1 win” for his quarterfinal opponent Jingdong.

T1 defeated LNG Esports (LNG) 3-0 in straight sets in the quarterfinals of the Knockout Stage of the 2023 LoL World Championship (Worlds) at Sajik Indoor Gymnasium in Busan on Friday afternoon.

In the post-match scrum, Moon said, “I thought we were going to win, but I didn’t expect to win 3-0. It’s great to win like this in the quarterfinals. I’ll do my best to do well in the next match,” he said. When asked if he was at his best, he laughed and said, “I’m not at my best yet, but I think I played well.”

On the day, T1 took the dragon 12 times in a row over the course of three sets, while LNG didn’t get a single dragon. “I thought the dragon was the key in this series,” Moon said. Our strong picks at the bottom made it easier for us to eat the dragon,” said Moon.

“It was the first time I met Lee ‘Tarzan’ Seung-yong in my professional career, and I think I did a little better, so I’m satisfied,” he said. When asked what he did to prepare for Lee, he said, “I felt like he wasn’t playing well after the first set. I thought it was a bad day for him, so I focused on attacking him,” he said. “The reason I was able to be aggressive was because our liners were overwhelming and did their job well,” he added.

T1 will now face Jingdong in the quarterfinals on April 12. Moon’s opponent will be Jin-hyeok “Canavi” Seo. Seo is one of the most highly regarded junglers in the tournament.

“I think he’s one of the best junglers in the tournament. He’s very strong.” He added, “It’s unfortunate that we met in the quarterfinals, but we can beat him just like we did last year. I’ll play a good game with no regrets. I think it’s going to be a really fun match, so I’m looking forward to it.”

T1 has won all six of its previous matches against LoL Pro League (LPL) teams at Worlds, including this one. “I don’t think there’s a specific reason why T1 is so strong against LPL teams,” Moon said, “but I think our style works well with the LPL.”

T1 is the only surviving Korean LoL Champions Korea (LCK) team to make it to the quarterfinals. The other teams are all from the LPL. Moon knew that T1 was the LCK’s only hope, but he was confident: “We didn’t feel any pressure because we were the only ones left. We felt confident enough to keep going up,” he said.

When asked about the expected scores of Weibo Gaming, Bilibili Gaming (BLG), Jingdong and T1, Moon said, “I think BLG will 카지노 beat Weibo Gaming 3-1. For Jingdong, the hope is 3-0, but I think we will win 3-1.”

Moon Hyun-jun said, “I feel like all the LCK fans are supporting us, which gives us even more strength. It’s good to think that we can go further. We’ll have fun,” he concluded the interview.
