Park Yoon Jeong-ho avoids Japan, North Korea, China in U-20 Women’s Asian Cup draw

Park Yoon-jung has been handed an easy draw at the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U-20 Women’s Asian Cup 2024, avoiding China, Japan and North Korea. The draw for the tournament was made on Friday at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and Park’s side were drawn in Group A alongside hosts Uzbekistan, Australia and Chinese Taipei.Japan, North Korea, China and Vietnam were drawn in Group B.This is the best result for South Korea, which avoided Asian powerhouse Japan, which retained its No. 8 ranking in the December FIFA rankings released earlier in the day, as well as feisty North Korea (No. 9) and traditional powerhouse China (No. 19).However, Australia, the third-highest-ranked AFC nation at No. 12, and hosts Uzbekistan (No. 47) will be tough opponents for Park to prepare for.South Korea is ranked 20th in the FIFA rankings.

The U-20 Women’s Asian Cup will be held in Uzbekistan from March 3-16 next year. The first and second place teams in each group will play a best-of-four tournament to determine the winner.Park’s goal is to win the title and qualify for the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia next September. The fourth-place finisher in the Uzbekistan tournament will qualify for the U-20 Women’s World Cup. If they finish in the top two, they’ll book their ticket to Colombia.South Korea has won the U-20 Women’s Asian Cup twice (2004-2013).Japan has won the tournament six times, including the last three in a row.Meanwhile, in the December FIFA rankings, Sweden dropped 스포츠토토존 from No. 1 to No. 5, followed by Spain, the United States, and France.
