The Sun, a British media outlet, reported on Aug. 28 (KST), “Rooney spilled the beans in an interview with his old teammate Neville. Rooney, who recently took over as manager of Plymouth Argyle FC in the Championship (2nd Division), answered more than 50 questions,” the Sun reported.

When asked who he would choose to take a penalty kick for him if he had to risk his life, Rooney said he would take it himself.

“If I can’t, Cristiano Ronaldo would be good, 안전놀이터 but I think Ronaldo would miss on purpose. If not me, then Van Nistelrooy,” he explained.

“The (2006) World Cup red card was the worst moment of my football life,” Rooney said when asked about his biggest regret in his career.

Neville was surprised and said, “Celtic? Wow. You Celtic fans missed out on Rooney,” Neville said in disbelief.

When asked to name the one player he would most like to play with, he chose Zinedine Zidane.

“Lionel Messi is the greatest of all time, but it would be amazing to play with Zidane,” Rooney imagined. “Zidane is cool, calm, and plays with both feet. He scores goals and assists,” Rooney praised.

Rooney’s favorite goal is his overhead kick against Manchester City. His favorite stadium is Wembley Stadium, not Old Trafford. His most memorable international moment was at Euro 2004.
