Daejeon Hana Citizen appoints coaches Kwon Chan-soo and Shin Soo-jin.

Daejeon Hana Citizen has completed its coaching staff for the 2024 season with the appointment of goalkeeping coach Kwon Chan-soo and assistant coach Shin Soo-jin.

The Daejeon Hana Citizen announced its coaching staff for the upcoming season on Monday. The most prominent addition is GK Coach Kwon Chansu. Kwon returns to Daejeon after a three-year absence since 2021.

Kwon played for Seongnam Ilhwa (now Seongnam FC) and Incheon United. After retiring from playing, he started with Youngsung High School in 2011 and worked as a GK coach for Goyang University Eyesight Women’s Soccer Team (2012), Seongnam Ilhwa (2013), Daegu FC (2014), Ulsan Hyundai (2015-17), Incheon United (2017-18), Jeju United (2019), Daejeon Citizen (now Daejeon Hana Citizen) (2019), Daejeon Hana Citizen (2021), Cheonan City FC (2023), and Gangwon FC (2023). He previously coached with Lee Min-sung at Ulsan in 2015 and Daejeon in 2021.

Shin played for Busan I-Park, Ulsan Hyundai Mipo Shipbuilding, and others before beginning her coaching career in 2011 as the head coach of Se Kyung High School. She then became the head coach of Korea University in 2013, where she helped the team win the 2013 National Championship, the 2014 Spring University League Championship, and the 2014 U-League Regional Championship.

In 2015, Shin took over as the head coach of Cheongju University, where he won the U-League Regional Championship in 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2019. In 2018, he helped Cheongju win its first-ever national title at the 54th Spring University Football Federation Championship.

“As I am challenged to work with Coach Lee Min-sung again in Daejeon, I will bring my experience as a player and coach to the team and do my best to help Daejeon achieve even higher goals,” said GK Coach Kwon Chansu.

“I will do my best to work with Coach Lee Min-sung and the coaching staff to make the 2024 season the best year yet,” said Shin Soo-jin, adding, “I will make sure that Daejeon becomes a more cohesive team through smooth communication between players and coaching staff.”

With this, Daejeon has completed the composition of its coaching staff for the 2024 season. Led by head coach Lee Min-sung, head coach Jung Kwang-seok, coach Bae Hyo-sung, GK coach Kwon Chan-soo, coach Shin Soo-jin, and physical coach Park Geun-young will lead the A team.

After completing the appointment of the coaching staff, Daejeon will leave for its second training camp in Hanoi, Vietnam on the 10th to begin full-scale season preparations.
